Note: William’s death certificate list father as “Do not know” and mother’s maiden name as “Manning”. Death cert. list birthplace as South Carolina. The 1860 census lists William and his sister Mary living with Hanna Truitt in South Carolina, so it is likely that his father died early and thus is unidentified.
