Henry served in the Confederacy in the Civil war, enlisting in Gainesville FL, May 3, 1862, then serving in the 2nd Regiment, Florida Cavalry.

Mixson and Sistrunk

 

My Grandmother, Rosalie Anderson Mixson in her memoirs “Our Early Married Life” tells how my Grandfather, Wilbur Darlington Mixson^#842 and his brother Gilbert took the horse and wagon to the old Sistrunk farm and tore down their old barn for the wood to build Roslie and Wilbur’s first house. I then used that the basis for my Deeply Rooted story “Story of a Tree”.
