Stokes of Covington County, MS Mr. Stokes was b. in Barnwell County, SC,
1800, d. abt. 1870, son of George Stokes and his wife, Hester Mallard
Stokes, and was a grandson of Arthur Stokes of Craven County, NC, a
soldier in the Revolution.
