Francea “Frances” Mixon, dau. of William and Mary Eleanor Joyce Mixon, was b. in Marion County, MS, 1811, m., 1827, Arthur Stokes of Covington County, MS Mr. Stokes was b. in Barnwell County, SC, 1800, d. abt. 1870, son of George Stokes and his wife, Hester Mallard Stokes, and was a grandson of Arthur Stokes of Craven County, NC, a soldier in the Revolution.
