Harriett E. Mixon, dau. of Irvin and Elizabeth Reeves Mixon, was b. in Lawrence County, MS , Apr 5, 1839, d. Jan 3, 1918, bur. Tilton Cemetery, Jayess, Lawrence County, MS. On Jan 18, 1854 she married William M. Smith - b. ca. 1837, d. ____, who had run away from his NC home at age 16, going first to Memphis, to Natchez, then to Osyka, MS where he met and married Harriett Mixon.

(Family records state that Alonzo and Lee, both died from tuberculosis, becoming infected by sleeping in a room with a man who had the disease).
