James Mixon, son of Zedekiah and Mary Mixon, was b. in Beaufort County, NC ca. 1776, d. 1817, leaving a will in which he named his wife "Polly" Bond and all children. (She afterwards married a Pritchett, left a will dated Aug. 8, 1837, in which she names some of her children).

Micajah Mixon, son of Zedekiah and Mary Mixon, was b. in Beaufort County, NC, ca. 1780, d. Jan. 31, 1841. By 1802, he had married and he and his wife had several children. Some of them had died, but from court records he was survived by following children.

Zedekiah Mixon, Jr., son of Zedekiah and Mary Mixon, was b. in Beaufort County, NC, 1794, d. before 1860. About 1820, he m. Elizabeth ? - b. ca. 1795. d. 1864, leaving a will dated Jan. 18, 1864, in which she mentions her daughter, Patsy Ann Bruffet and a granddaughter, Lydia Ann.  Zedekiah served in the Civil War 2 Reg't (Tisdale's) North Carolina Mil.

Elijah H. Mixon, carpenter and farmer, son of Zedekiah and Mary Mixon, was b. in Beaufort County, NC, Oct. 31, 1795, d. at Oxford, GA, Aug. 20, 1873. Elijah Mixon moved from Beaufort County, North Carolina in or before 1824 and his mail was addressed to Monticello, Jasper County, Georgia through August 1827 and thereafter to Covington, Newton County. His son Asbury Mixon "was born 12 miles south of Covington, Newton County, in 1824," so it is possible that they were living in Newton County and for some reason, probably because of the condition of the roads, they found it more convenient to use the Monticello post office until 1828. In 1837 the family moved to Oxford and built one of the first houses in town. They were closely associated with the early days of Emory College1.  On Sept. 4, 1823, he m. Charlotte Aughtry in Hancock County, GA, b. 1796, d. Jan 6, 1877. Her people had moved there from Sampson County, NC. She was b. 1797, d. Jan 6, 1877 at Oxford, GA Elijah left a will dated Jan 4, 1873, filed in October that year.  Elijah and Charlotte Mixon moved to Oxford in January 1838 to educate two sons, Asbury Coke Mixon and J. Fletcher Mixon, both of whom became Methodist Ministers.  Both  bur. Oxford Historical Cemetery, Oxford, Newton County, GA.
