William Elsworth Mixon, believed to be son of Meredith Mixson (#3383) People did move about some, and ages of two William Mixons are about the same, and it is possible they are one and the same. It would have been more conclusive if the latter had been in Charleston County. No Mixons are listed in Charleston County in 1870

Mr. Glenn Elsworth Mixon of Bainbridge, GA, he states that his grandfather was William Elsworth Mixon, Sr., and that his father was William Elsworth Mixon, Jr. He said also that his grandfather was born in Charleston County, SC. , and that his great-grandfather was too old to go to the Civil War and that his grandfather was too young. He did not know about the given name of Elsworth, but it could have come from some relative. In the 1790 census of South Carolina there was only one family in the state with the surname Elsworth and it was Theolopis Elsworth and that was in Charleston District. From census records the following family lineup has been projected.

Note: There is another Williams Elsworth Mixon #19405 who is the s. of William Alexander Mixon
