I received the following email  in Feb 2015 from Greg Reid g.g. grandson of John Ducnan Mixon which links Johd Duncan Mixon as being the son of Joseph L Mixon.     Larry Mixson

Hello distant cousin my name is Greg Reid and I am the gg grandson of John Duncan Mixon b 1850 Cass Co tx d 1923 Marshall Tx. (17026 JOHN D. MIXON from your site).

I have discovered something interesting that may make a long sought after connection to his lineage. On the 1860 Cass Co. Census is listed a J Mixon (head) and at 10 yrs old is a Jnd which most list as Jud or Ind. Our family stories recalls John Duncan saying he was born in Cass Co. but we have never made a further connection. I found the 1850 census with more first names which coordinates with the 1850 census (Jnd was not yet born). Also I show this Joseph L b. 1809 to have a brother named Duncan.  

 I noticed that you show my John D. as s. of unknown so I thought I would see what you thought about this possible connection. I have pictures of John Duncan Mixon and his family.
