Jan. 26.
    Celebrated Ernie’s St. Jacques’ birthday at Quincy’s.     
 
Feb 3-7th  
  We went camping at Myakka State Park in Sarasota, Fla.  Excellent weather about high of 76°.  Larry was there on a business trip and Julie came over the weekend.  She went on to visit her sister in Orlando.  David came for a couple of days.    
 
Feb 7
   Sue came up to take care of Gary & Dianne’s children while they went to California.  We ate supper over there on Wed.  Sue cooked a great meal (as usual).    
 
Feb. 11
   I went to Coral’s class program at Littlewood School.  B,B & us went to Carl & Judy’s house for desert & to play cards.    
 
Feb. 12
  Wendall & jean Turner came by & spent the night.    
 
Feb. 15
  We went with the senior adults to tour the Fla. State Museum & then to the Brown Derby for lunch.    
 
Feb. 18
   Brenda called & said they sold their condo at St. Augustine.   
 
Feb. 22
   Beth started work at Littlewood School as a teacher’s Aide.  
 
Feb. 23
   Coral & Katie both are sick so they stayed home with me.  It has been in the 80° this week.   
 
Feb. 25
   We bought a new king sized bed at Lowry’s who went out of business.   
 
Feb. 26
  Dick & Shirly Hoyer from Michigan (my half brother) are here visiting Gary & Dianne, so they had us over for supper so we could visit with them.    The azaleas are beautiful this month.      
 
March 5
   Sue & Jim came up and we ate dinner at Gary & Dianne’s house again as Dick & Shirley were here again on their way back to Michigan.     
 
March 8
  We (our WMU) had a salad luncheon at our house.  Had 8 ladies here.    
 
March 14
  David took us out to eat at Steak & Ale.  He eats with us once a week (and does washing here) so in payment he take us out now & then.    
 
March 18  - April 5
   We went to Bianson MO & met Brenda & Tom there for a week, then we went on to their house in Laurence, Kansas.  We got home at 7:20 pm April 5.  Fair weather, some cold.  
 
April 8-9-10
   Sue, Jim, Carole & Dick came up to G’ville to take care of mom as Gary & Dianne went away (it was spring break for the kids).     Katie played T-ball and had her first game Sat. April 9.    
 
April 12
   Our WMU met at the Village and lunch there with Pearl Martin, Lu Ball, Laurel Tucker, Laurel Kiser (they all live there).  We had a great time & lunch was great.  That night the seniors had a fish fry at Jon & Laurel Folks home.   
 
April 14
   Our SS class had a picnic at the Rainbow River Club.    
 
April 18-19-20
   Bob & Ellie came up.    
 
April 22-23
   Sue & Jim came up to take care of mom as Jenifer was off.  Wyndall & Joyce Skipper came up & spent the weekend with to discuss our plans to go to Alaska.    
 
April 27
   Zack went with his class to Bush Gardens.  We picked him up at 6:30 PM & he spent the night here.    Today Ex President Richard Nixon was buried.  (watched it on TV)  
 
May 13th
   Our SS class had a covered dish supper at O.D. and Rosalie Thomas’s house in Archer, FL.        
 
May 1-24
   Got prepared to go to Alaska.  Buy groceries, pack camper, get camper serviced and pack cloths for warm & cold weather.  Betty, Billy Morris & I leave for Alaska, Wed. morning May 25.  Joyce & Wyndall Skipper leave Sat. May 28 and meet us Tuesday, May 31st Osceola, MO.  We spent 4 days at Branson, MO, then on to Mt. Rushmore, Glacier Nat. Park, Banff Nat. Par, Lake Louise, Calgary, Dawson Creek, B.C. Ft Nelson, Liand Hot Springs, Watson Lake Skagway, TOK, Alaska, Valdez, Anchorage, Goldotna, Deep Creek State Campground, Seward, Hope, Portage Glacier, Anchorage, (where we meet David who travels with us for 5 days), Denali Nat. Park, Fairbanks, TOK, Dawson City, (drove Top of the World Highway), Whitehorse, the Yukon, Watson Lake, Ft. Nelson, Dawson Creek, Edmonton (Worlds Largest Mall), Saskatoon, Minot, N.D. Sisseton, S.D. Onawa, Iowa, Lawrence, Kansas and arrived home Aug 20.  
 
Aug 1
   Gary and Dianne have to put mom in North Fla. Special Care Unit.  They have had a hard time with her while we were gone.    
 
Aug. 23
  Celebrated Morris’ birthday in Lawrence, Ks.    Aug. 30, SS class went to Quincy’s for dinner.       Sept. 3 our first football game with New Mexico State.  Bob & Ellie come up for the weekend.    Sept. 4 had the family reunion at Gary & Dianne’s house.  Mom came for a little while.
 
Sept. 6
I started Line Dancing Lessons at Trinity Church.  Also Betty & Billy, Libby, Ernie, Fran & John, Evelyn & John, Zella Mae & Monroe.  Lots of fun.     I started going out to put mom to bed on Monday’s and Wednesday nights.

  Did Meals on Wheels.
 
Sept. 17
   TV football watching party at Betty & Billy’s.  Played Tennessee at Knoxville.
 
Sept. 19
   Beth started work at GHS in the cafeteria (food service)  Good hours 8:15 am -1:15.    Clarence & Eleanor Kiggins (SS friends) move to Springfield, Ohio.  Will miss them.  
 
Sept. 20
   I went to Dr. Diavolitis to see about the choking on food & pain I have. 
 
Sept. 22
   I go to the hospital for a barium enema X-Rays.
 
Sept. 24
   Beth, Mark take the kids to Disney World for the day.
 
Oct. 3
   I have an Endoscopy at AGH.  They stretched my esophagus (it was closing up due to scar tissue from acid food burped up over the years).  Also I have a hiatus hernia.  Gotta watch what I eat.  Started taking Zantec.    
 
Oct. 7
   SS Fish Fry at John & Griffens house.    Sue & Carole come up for the weekend.  Douglas Lynes comes home to see his mom.
 
Oct. 8
   Joyce & Wyndall Skipper come up to go over t& look at pictures of our trip to Alaska.  Wyndall went to the U of F – LSU football game.
 
Oct. 15
    We lost the game to Auburn!  
 
Oct. 16
   Morris & I leave for Fort Tatham Campground, North of Franklin, N.C.    Carolyn & Lamar meet us there & we travel around with them in their car for a couple of days.  Beautiful weather.
 
Oct. 26
   Arrived home after a great relaxing trip.
 
Oct. 28
   We went to the Leigh Hall (Chemistry Dept.) dedication of the renovate Leigh Hall & Bar B Q.  Morris gave a 5 minute speech about the olden days in Leigh Hall.  Of all the speakers, he was the best!  Really!
 
Oct. 29
    David went to the  GA-FL with Morris football game heled here in Gainesville.  The Gator Bowl in Jax is torn down & being rebuilt for the new NFL team, the “Cougars”.  So the Fl-GA game was here this year & in Athens GA next year.
 
   Every Tuesday I go line dancing & I love it.  Great Exercise.    Mom not doing good at all.      
 
Nov. 1-22
     Here it’s November already.  Line dancing every Tues.  Go take care of mom on Mondays & Wednesdays, football games on Sat. & SS & Church on Sundays.  Morris has had pains in his chest so had upper x-rays – Nov. 10.  Not his heart.  Lots of doctor’s appointments this month.    Uncle Bob had test & a lump taken off his back.  Turned out OK.
 
Nov. 23,
   Larry & Julie came down for Thanksgiving.  Had Thanksgiving here with Larry, Julie, David, Beth Mark, kids and grandma Mixson & Foy Lynes.   Cork, Connie, Joshua & Sarah came by for a few hours.  Mom went with Gary & Dian to her mother’s house.  Julie left late in the day to go to Melbourne to see her sister, Louise.  Larry & Julie leave early Sat. Morning.
 
Nov. 26
   Carole comes up to help with mom.  Had Dixie, Carole & Mom over for Sunday (Nov. 27) supper.  Dixie real busy with Sally’s wedding coming up next month.  
 
Dec. 4
  Went & got grandma Mixson so we could take her to the dentist to get new bottom teeth as she lost hers!    Dec. 8, I had to get a tooth fixed, I broke a piece off day before Thanksgiving.
 
Dec. 14
  Went to Jax to pick up Brenda and Tom who flew in for Sally’s wedding.  Tom was the minister who married them.    Dec. 15 we were invited to the rehearsal dinner at Leonard’s (very good food)    10:30 Brenda & I went to a bridal luncheon at the Heritage Club given by Kelly & Kristi.
 
Dec. 16
   I picked up Coral & Katie from school at noon & brought them here to wash & roll their hair, as they were flower girls in the wedding, along with Kristle Junior & Katie Albright.    Sally Guinn & Michael Hartzog were married at Westside Baptist Church, 7:30 pm on Dec. 16, 1995.  Reception was at the Woman’s Garden Club. 
 
Dec. 18
  Took Brenda & Tom to Jax to catch their plane.  
 
Dec. 20
   Our SS class had our Christmas party at Quincy’s then we went to Libby & Ernie’s for desert etc.
 
Dec. 24
   Gary & Dianne had the family over for a Christmas eve get-together.
 
Dec. 25
   Had Christmas dinner here at 5 O’clock.  Sue, Jim, Aunt Iva Mae, Mom, grandma Mixson, David, Beth, Mark, Zackary, Coral, Katie, Morris & me.  It was a beautiful sunny day, in the 60’s.    Beth & Mark came up early & we opened our gifts.  Sue brought up a lot of food and we had plenty left over.  I was very tired by night.
