Dearest Morris,

Well it Tues. afternoon, so I might as well write.  Business has been pretty good so far today, and also yesterday.

Last nite Joyce and Wyndall came over to tell me that they are getting married Aug. 27 for sure.  They got their blood tests yesterday and Joyce got her a job starting in Sept. in a department store as bookkeeper and cashier in Leesburg.  They got ‘em an apartment too for $35 a month – two bedrooms too.  They paid their first month’s rent, also it’s furnished.  They got their wedding rings yesterday too.  Wyndall got one too.  Then we went to see Tiny for a few minutes.  Guess we stayed about an hour.  Have you missed me much yet this week?  Honestly I’d give anything if it was us getting married instead of them.  Do you know what?  They borrowed $100 from a loan comp. to get married on.  They pay them back $10 & some cents a month for one year.  I wouldn’t want to do that, would you?  (Sybil, Catherine, Lola, Irene, and her baby just came to visit)

Oh darling guess what?  Sue cut my hair last nite, and I could see what she was doing and she really cut a lot off.  It doesn’t look too bad.  Mom really got after me, then she start on the subject of how my hair look Sun.  She said I had not pride.  Do you think I have?  She said I’d sit out in the car all nite if I could!! Probably would if we could, wouldn’t we?  She just doesn’t understand!

Well honey, I started this letter this afternoon so I’ll finish it now.  Sue has the pen and ink so I have to use this pencil.  I’ve had customers all afternoon so I’ve been busy.  Syble and Irene are giving Sue a shower next Mon. afternoon.  I wish I could go, but I expect I’ll have to stay here.  Poor me.

Well darling, I’ll close for now.

All my love and kisses.
Barbara (I love you)

P.S.

  See you next Sat.
Please don’t trade your car off right away, not
  This week anyway.

How’s my darling this morning?  Honey, daddy wants to know if you and I will take our car and drive him up to Lake City Sunday?  Cause mom wants the car.  Dad said to write and ask you.  I know you probably will.  Will I have to get to work so good bye.

All my love
Barbara

See you Sat. afternoon.
Still love me?
