I know what you mean by a short weekend for mine also seemed short but fun. After errands on Sat. morning, then taking a tour of a local brewery followed by another garden and home show in the afternoon. Sunday I built a "cat condo" for our two cats and then helped a friend work on finishing his basement. My daughter got the urge once again to get a bigger aquarium and found a used 90 gal in the paper. I then spent four hours Sunday evening going with her to check it out, empty it, load in my truck bring it home and then unload it all, whew!, what a bunch of work. Got home just in time for X-files. What a strange twist, Mulder is now the skeptic and Scully is now the believer.
 
Yes I did get Turkle's book but have only read the first dozen pages. It looks very interesting. I have known about the MOOS, MUSHs, etc. for years, even before the web they were on bulletin boards. I checked a couple of them out years ago but never really could get interested in them. I tend to like something more graphical and found the text only aspect boring. There are some newer ones on the web that are graphical but I understand they are somewhat slow and still awkward to use.
 
I would not say "nearly bald" but with a definite bald spot in the back, very receding hair line in front and very thin hair on top. Funny you mention Rogaine, it was on sale this week so I got some and just started using it this past weekend. We'll see if does any good, takes about four months they say.

I was helping my friend Rick from Bell Atlantic to finish his basement. We put in 2x4 stud walls around the sides of the basement and bathroom then finished out the bathroom.

Actually, I was mostly bald on top, here is a photo of Rick and his wife with Julie and I when we hiked Old Rag.  I used Rogaine for a year or more and found it did not help, I continued losing hair and finally gave up on Rogaine.
