Subject: Theology and morbid
philosophy
Theology/religion is a subject that has interested me off and on over
the years. After generally rejecting my Baptist upbringing during my
early college years I then became interested in the eastern religions,
Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism. A few years ago Julie and I took a six
week seminar at the Smithsonian on Comparative Religions which was quite
interesting. find what has happening with the Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS)
kinda humors because it really shakes up those who believe the Bible is
the "Word of God" as if god himself wrote it when in actuality it has
been written, rewritten and edited by so many persons over the centuries
that it is hard to find/believe what is "true" about it. When something
like the DSS comes along that sheds new light on the history of the
Bible and in some case contradicts it, it causes all sorts of fervor.
Yes my having my friend work here would be great. The last few months at
DynCorp he and I got to be pretty good friends but typical be when I
left I did not stay in contact much with him although I did call him
every 3 or 4 months which was somewhat new behavior for me. The
interview went great yesterday and I took him out to lunch afterwards.
PEC will be definitely be making and offer and I believe he will accept.
NO I don't remember the picture of the dome home although I do recall
being very interested in dome homes. I was going though some old stuff
the other day and found my old book on dome homes and my "original" copy
of the Whole Earth Catalog. Ah, the nostalgia. I also have always wanted
to build my
own home or do a major "old house" renovation. I have a friend here who,
with his wife, built their own home. It sit out in the country on 17
acres. The house is a timber frame house (like barns are built) and is
heated with solar and wood stoves. I went out to his place last winter
when was about 25 degrees and snow a foot deep on the ground to cut some
firewood. It was fun driving my SUFI out into the woods through the snow
to find a fallen tree to cut up into firewood. Afterwards we went to his
house to have a beer and it was so warm inside he had to leave the door
open.

I had always wanted to build a dome home after seeing them first in the Last Whole Earth Catalog then in the Dome II catalog. (see 1971)
