Subject: Hello
I wanted to at least say hello today, before you may have left. I
find myself wishing I had a "friend" at work, someone I could trust to
confide in. Being new, it is hard to ascertain who that me.
One thing I've held back from in these communications is openly talking
about any job issues I might have which concern me, but fortunately they
are few. I don't feel comfortable with such discussions on e-mail
while I'm actually at work. Perhaps when I am at the library
computer, I will discuss the one or two things which have come up, one
of which I had to address today.
Another interest we share, theology.
I'm working on an interesting project right now on
"psychoneuroimmunoogy" which is how the brain, body, and mind interact.
It's interesting, but I thought I would stop for just a minute or I
wouldn't have "talked" to you at all today.
The weather was fearful last night from 6:00 p.m. on. We had
tornado watch until 2:00 a.m. Statistically March and April have
the highest number of tornados here, and interestingly that hour of the
day is statistically high. A tornado system did strike Birmingham,
a major city about an hour's drive from here, and I heard this morning
that 20 people were killed and some people are still missing.
I'm still in an irritable mood. I finally decided on the physician
I want to have as my "family" doctor. When I called, she had
decided yesterday to take no more patients as she is booked a year in
advance.
Do you believe that? I asked them to make an exception and tried
to pull a little "influence" by stating that I was the Medical Librarian
at the campus, since she teaches here. I think it worked as they
are sending me the "papers" in the mail to fill out, but I don't
actually have an appointment per se. I need an annual everything
at this point, and on top of it I'm physician phobic. Because of
my age and issues surrounding peri-menopause, etc., I wanted a female
specifically, and there are few "choices." I've heard she is
really good. The truth is, quite a few physicians scare the death
out of me. I feel they should at least be as smart as I am.
I'm getting a computer "yen" which I get once in a while. If it
firms up (after taxes), I'd like to ask your advice. I'm terribly
spoiled though by "expensive" systems.
Have a good evening. "See" you tomorrow. Elizabeth
