Subject: Gourmands and Gourmets
I think I'll try some chokes next week when I go to the store. I'm
pleased because I've taken off the weight I gained from eating in the
hospital for a month, and now I actually like the regimen I'm on, which
is more like what I usually eat anyway--bagel or Eng. muffin for
breakfast with skim milk, some type of sandwich for lunch with a banana,
and pretzels for snacks, some type of entree for dinner with a salad,
then later hot chocolate or tea and a small snack. The
most difficult part though is after class, even if I eat dinner.
I was home yesterday afternoon after work when the man downstairs left.
I noticed he slammed his door very loudly. See--what he told
me--as he shook his finger in my face was "Get it straight, I don't slam
doors, it's the wind." It's fine with me if I never see him again.
I find myself wondering that it's understandable he got a divorce, he's
such a jerk. Obviously the way he treated me is the way he treats
people in general. What a poor role model for his two children,
both of whom are males.
I think any graduate program would require a lot of work, esp. if you
are full time. If I were only taking once course, the burden would
not be so light. I think if I were you, and I really had
intentions along those lines, I'd begin "chipping away" at the
requirements. I'm learning to be more disciplined about the amount
of studying required, and I've learned to treat myself with "ordinary
activities" like taking a bath (!) as a study break, or reading the
paper.
I can't believe that India test exploded three nuclear underground
bombs. Now Pakistan is saying they are going to test as well.
I really don't too much about international affairs anymore, but
apparently neither India, Pakistan, nor Israel signed the nuclear
nonproliferation treaty, while the other major nations did. Just
when we thought this type of thing was behind us--However my con law
prof (the flag man) got into our lack of nuclear defense last night and
our vulnerable to "Russia." He probably has a bomb shelter in his
backyard.
Still--have you ever seen Testament, the t.v. movie with Jane Alexander.
It is so well done. I've seen it at least four or five times.
I think it is the best thing she ever did.
