I've lost track of writing and/or hearing from you. I'm trying to
get through this last week of school, which is this week. I've
also been trying to firm up my vacation. I'm definitely going to
Huntsville.
There are a large number of things I can do there, including a large
state park, so I may cut out swinging over to the other state park.
Also, apparently the state park's rates really drop in October and it
would be pleasant to possibly go in the Fall. However, did you get
the cool snap which we did. In the 60s--it is like heaven. I
got sort of worried about just driving into Huntsville and getting a
room by just driving around, as it is a college town, and also has
sports teams, and I didn't want to risk the stress of not finding
something, so I went ahead and reserved at La Quinta. I like them
because they have really nice rooms with free breakfasts, usually
bagels, juice, coffee, and fruit in the morning. I don't want to
have to deal with any people, so I'm passing on the B & B route.
Also, I just want to lay back and relax and be cool. In some ways
I just want to do simple things, like sit in a coffee bar, or in a park.
Huntsville has an international park downtown with outdoor art, a
botanical gardens, and some mountain top parks, where you're supposed to
be able to look way down across the city and the Tenn. River and also
see the missile silos at the research park. La Quinta is nice as
well in that they don't have a check in time--if the room is ready you
can check in any time after 6:00 a.m. for that day--some places it's 1,
2 or even 3. I'm so tired--this is what usually happens--I get so tired
that then I don't have energy to plan to go and do (it does take some
planning at least minimally), but fortunately my plans are in place, and
I'm minimizing as much fatigue as possible with reservations, etc.
I made a "90" on the Con Law paper I wrote. At first I was a
little disappointed, but then he told the class a "90" was an excellent
paper in his eyes. I've only heard of one paper higher so far, a
91. One of my friends, who usually makes really high got an
83--she's p'o'd.
How are you doing? Is your trip planned?
Well, basically hello. I'm certainly looking forward to finals
being over, but I'm having great difficulty studying for them.
Everyone wants it OVER. All the students say they too were wiped
out by the very short break we got between Spring and Summer, and it has
been a long haul.
