Subject: Quick Note
I was hoping I could sneak in some studying at work, but just got two
major research requests to do. I was just finishing up one I got
this morning, and thought I was home free when someone walked in with
work they want by Thursday. My test is Thursday night, and I was
hoping to leave early, or possibly I might splurge and take the day off,
but I can't really justify it, as I'm not in that bad of shape for
studying.
I thought I'd write not while I was checking my mail. I still sort
of yearn for a piano and/or to learn. We have a bulletin board
here and someone a while back had a keyboard for sale, but I know
nothing about them. The schools here have piano sales all the
time, or yearly. Why would the stuff with Julie make it so that you
would wait on getting a piano for yourself? Is it the finances
being indefinite. I was concerned for your situation because I
wondered if you might have to sell your place, because I think you said
her Dad put in a large down payment.
Students in AL are required to take a test to graduate from high school.
It is an eighth grade level test. Today's paper said more students
flunked it this year than last year. You get four tries.
Next year the test goes up to 11th grade level and many people are
really worried. Only one school had a pass rate in the 90s and its
a special "magnet" school. Pretty deplorable.
I need to start making a list of all the things I need to do when finals
are over. Most things are really small--such as sew buttons back
on clothes I'm not wearing because a button fell off-but I haven't taken
time to attend to it. I'm thinking about doing my own radiator
flush--it needs it. It seems simple. I have some reading I'd
like to do, and ORGANIZING. My law papers are accumulating at a
rapid rate.
A hair cut. I need to do that as well. Are you still doing
the Rogaine stuff.
Sell my place? I, we, had no such thoughts or talk, I fully expected that Julie moving out was just temporary and she would move back in a few months. Was I deceiving myself? Probably, as she did sign a year lease on the place she was renting.
