Subject: Wrapped Up
Work has been moderately slow, and consequently somewhat boring, as I
get restless and would rather be at home. I cannot imagine this
job without the internet, because it is what I do with the down time.
I've been wrapped up in law school. Also, my "friend" next door
has taken another job elsewhere and she is leaving, so we have been
e-mailing each other alot internally. Does your ear hurt and how
is your hearing progressing? Can you see any improvement? I
know what you mean about "you're still the Dr. even if you didn't make
straight A's." Basically all it takes to pass a law course is a D.
I think though you have to keep above a 2.0 to stay in, so too many D's
would kill you, but one or two wouldn't. Some people just keep on
trucking, making D's and C's. The truth is, though, there are some
pretty "dumb" people in the program. I don't think Jones has
extremely strict admission standards. But, all you have to do is
pass, really. The REAL test is the BAR, although many, many
professors claim that they know who will pass based on class
performance. We get warnings about "the bar" all the time.
I'm very excited about my classes this term, which is why I'm wrapped
up. I just got very excited about "expert witness testimony"
because it combines some of my interest in psychology, sociology, etc.
But, the week is a struggle. It is so hard to get through my Wed.
night class, which I don't particularly like. It is a real chore
to make myself attend. Thursday I love the class, but by
Thursday's I'm tired and I know I have a full night coming up.
Anyway, I wanted to read some in the Cobra Effect, but have gotten no
chance. I haven't even read the newspaper in a few days, but I
read it on line. I really need to simplify some components of my
life, like housekeeping. Lucky you with outside help.
