Well still not much going here at work. I would expect the new
project to take at least 3-4 more weeks to get going. The ATF
hired a new guy to manage the project and when I called him to inquire
about it he new little about it and what was going on which is to be
expected since he just started but it is still disappointing. I
scheduled to meet with him on Wed to review were things are at. By
the time he gets things figured out, gets us a Statement of Work, we
respond, they review then award the contract it will be several weeks.
In the mean time I've been playing around with web development stuff,
Java, ASP, HTML and so forth. It has been somewhat fun but with
the company insistent on having some account to charge time to I expect
to get some pressure to be on a project but the catch 22 is I don't have
any project. This contract type of work is a pain, I liked much
more to work on commercial product development.
My ear is pretty much the same, have lost about 75% of hearing in my
left ear. It doesn't hurt but the is some ringing still although
it seems to be a little less each day. The doctor says if the hole
heals up completely then my hearing should be pretty much back to
normal. He did say it was a big hole and he had some concern that
it may not close all the way. I'm scheduled to go back and see him
in 4 weeks. If it doesn't he can do the skin graft thing. I hope
it doesn't come to that.
The garden show was OK but it is the "Home and Garden" show. The
best show is this weekend at the Convention Center downtown DC, it is
the "Flower and Garden" show. It has much more flower and garden
exhibits. I don't plan to make it having gone to the other show
last weekend and in addition Julie is going to see her father this
weekend and it just not the same going without her. I will be
going to a woodworking show at the Expo Center, I'll have to restrain
myself from buying too many tools.
Well just a note to let you know what's going on. Larry
