Subject: Sick
I have come down with a cold and I'm at home today. I'm not feeling all
that bad but because work is so slow I can use it as an excuse to stay
home. I have plenty of sick leave so it's no problem. I dialed
into to work and found your messages so thought I would reply.
Julie plans to keep the cat. She has really taken to it and it is a real
affectionate cat. It does seem to be having a problem with getting
along with her other cat but she is hoping it will work out. The
trip was nice, it was a nice day on Saturday, sunny and all for the
drive over. Delaware is really all farms so it is a pretty drive.
Julie's father is a very interesting man and very entertaining so I
enjoy seeing him. We came back early on Sunday, leaving at 8am
because we were supposed to get 10 inches of snow on Sunday. As it
turned out the snow didn't start about the time we hit DC around 11am
and we only got about 4 inches. It was a really wet snow mixed
with some sleet and rain so it wasn't much fun but I still enjoyed it.
I just finished reading Distraction by Bruce Sterling. It is a
sci-fi about the future in which global warming, bio technology, cyber
tech and a breakdown of society. Sterling is in the same league as
William Gibson and the two of them have co-authored a couple of books
together (e.g. The Difference Engine).
The car thing sounds like a real pain. Getting stopped with
illegal tags could be real serious, I'm sure your driving extra careful
but you never know what crazies are on the road and might run into you.
I hope you can figured out how to get the title. Till later.
