Subject: Busy
I've been very busy and this is the first time I've checked my e-mail
this week. I sent the message twice because I sent it the first
time, but when I came back to the screen it said "connection could not
be established." I wasn't certain it went through. I had an
awful awful Friday. It was traumatic. When I was leaving for
work the school kids who wait for the bus at 7:30 were all standing out
in the median strip entrance to the apartment throwing rocks at each
other and across the road. I stopped, until they stopped, and when
I caught their eye, I started driving out. Just as I did, two of
the kids started fighting, pushing, and one of the little kids ran right
into the road and slammed into my car/and or I hit him. I was
petrified. I hit the brake so hard my left leg, which pressed into
the floor board went into severe muscle spasms, so I could not get out
to check on him. FORTUNATELY, I could not believe, he got up and walked,
but was limping. Even though I was only going five mph or so, he
hit the car hard. Unfortunately, for my fear as well, he was a
little black boy. His sister was there and she I carried him back
to their house, where his mother was just leaving for work. I
think his sister was the one who pushed him into the road. She
told their mother "he hurt his foot in the road." I did not say a
word. I got to work, eventually, but when I got here I broke down
crying. I didn't know what to do, call the police etc. I
talked it over with several people--I did not get a chance to e-mail for
your advice, even though I wanted to--and finally I "sat on it" which
most people seemed to recommend. My biggest fear was that he was
hurt more than he seemed to have been. Heading home was rough,
because I was afraid there would be a note on my door, but there wasn't.
I've looked for him, but haven't seen him out the past two mornings.
Yesterday, the kids were actually dancing in the street daring cars.
Well I have to go. I think you have allergies. Is the mucus
clear? That seems to be the factor.
