Subject: Bus Stop
Well, the boss is away for a few days, but I never see him anyway.
At the bus stop this morning that little kid was there and he was
jumping up and down. I guess it pays to be young. Yesterday
was insane, I was so busy. I think I told you Baptist Health just
acquired two other hospitals in the area. The physicians there are
beginning to discover "the library" as many of my calls yesterday were
from new people. I heard this morning though that for the first
time in quite some time the hospital lost money last month, over a
million dollars. I also heard that about 100 jobs are to be cut,
and that salaries will be frozen for two years (that's not good news, as
my tuition went up AGAIN.) I was picking up on a lot of anxiety for a
while, from other people, but I have tried to distance myself from it.
I presume my job is secure. The library is very expensive to
operate, however. Well, we are poised, I guess for another "little war."
I wonder what time today it will begin. I was just in the
cafeteria trying to figure out time zones, as the strikes will be at
night. How's your ear? I'm so pleased my eye is better, i.e.
not tearing. It used to be so annoying, esp. when I would study,
because the tears would be running down my face and I had to constantly
wipe my eyes. Perhaps more later, Elizabeth
