Wow, that was really a close call with the boy.  I really glad that it seems to have worked out OK for you.  The whole incident could have turned into something really ugly if the boy really go hurt or even worse killed.  Tensions between black and white people can really cause some explosive things to happen.  With DC being about 90% black I've seen it happen here.  I would imagine that in Alabama it could be even worse.  I'm not sure what I would have done but most likely the same as you, check the boy out, not say anything and be on my way.  Stopping and seeing the boy home was probably a really good thing, otherwise it could have be seen as a "hit and run".   Kids, sometimes they do the stupidest things!
 
The good news about your hospital merger is that it sounds like it could make your job more secure.  On the other had the bad news is that it could make you job a lot more busy.  I've been through three mergers, some good some not so good.  I have a friend that worked at the same job for 10 years and went through  five mergers!
 
No, I don't have allergies, thank god.  It can be really bad up here in the spring because of all the trees.  My ear is much better, about two weeks ago something went "pop" and suddenly most all my hearing came back, about 90% anyway.  It still has a ringing that doesn't stop.  I go back to see the ear doctor on Monday to have it checked out.
 
My job is going better, I have been having great fun doing a lot of prototyping web page stuff which was a lot like play, great fun.  We got the statement of work for the Cincinnati project last Friday and it should start the first or second week of April.  There is another potential image system for the Atlanta Olympic bombing trial of Rudolf, the guy they been looking for in N.C.
