That was interesting about the guy from Gainesville, I'll have to look
him up in my year book. He would have been a year or two behind
me. I have heard of his company, Phar Lap Software, I believe I
have used some of their software in the past. There was a real
interesting article in the Post today about Joseph P. Firmage. He
is this guy who made it big in the web craze, making several hundred
million. A year or two ago he had some vision and quit his job
being the CEO of his company and now is promoting that we (the people of
planet earth) are on the verge of some major changes, discovery of
anti-gravity, contact with aliens and so forth. He has got a lot
of press the past few months (Wired had an article about him). He
just published a book called "The Word is Truth" but a condensed version
(244 pages) is online and can be downloaded from his web site. You
might want to check it out. http://www.thewordistruth.org it is quite
interesting. Not much else going on here, still waiting for the
new contract to start which should be next week or two. Larry
In the article it said the president of Phar Lap Software was Richard M. Smith who was 45 in 1999 and that he took computer courses at the University of Florida in the early 70’s. I got out my Gainesville High School yearbook and there was a Richard Smith listed as a Junior in 1970. (I was a senior) I don’t know if it is the Richard Smith in the article.
