Subject: Odds and Ends
I got my car fixed. All it needed was a new muffler and tail pipe.
It sounded awful. At least from the experience I have found a good
place to have car repairs, if and when I should need them. I've
always wondered where I would go, but fortunately except for my air con
belts going out, I haven't had anything which needed doing since being
in Montgomery. And my experience with the air con belts was very
negative, because the "expert" place I took it to "couldn't see anything
wrong" and wanted to keep the car a day, and charge me 35.00 to JUST
check it. I drove away and went to Express Oil near where I live
and the man popped the hood and in a minute or two, said "you need a
belt." I was very angry at the first place.
Nothing much else new. My "break" is dribbling away. I
bought an air bed with a manual pump, but after HOURS of pumping, I have
yet to get it inflated. I have given up twice. I have an air
compressor, but it attaches to my cigarette lighter and I would have to
take the bed outside. That might be hard to maneuver as it is
queen size. I think I may just stop back at Sears tonight where I
got the bed and buy a pump. I also bought a Britta water filter.
My apt. is so old, at times I get worried about drinking the water, even
though I try to remember to let it run to clear the pipes. I
thought about attaching a faucet filter, but the pitcher filters were on
sale and I've thought about getting one for a while.
Otherwise, I got part way through Videodrome, but will have to finish it
tonight before I return it at about 7. Its not really sci fi, so I
was mistaken from the mention of it in another review. I'm still
playing with my law school schedule. Unfortunately the best plan,
the plan that would mess my completion date up the least, seems to
indicate I SHOULD take the three courses this Summer. Then in the
Fall I can take two, but will have to take three one or two more times,
alternating with two. I'm trying to get geared up and organized,
hence the air bed, getting my car fixed, buying a few things, because
that's the kind of thing I simply don't have time for. I've also
stocked up on paper towels, toilet paper, etc. It's like getting
ready for a battle.
I haven't done as much reading as I would have like to have done.
Watching the videos has sucked up time.
