I'm glad you found a good car repair place. There are alot of car
repair places that will really take advantage of people that don't know
much about cars. I know of people who took their car in for what
should have been a minor repair and end up paying hundreds of dollars.
I know a lot about cars and have taken my car in for a very specific
repair and then have the repair place call me and tell me I need all
sorts of other repairs that were not needed or not really necessary.
I still do many repairs myself (including replacing exhaust pipes) but
there are something's either I can't do or don't want to do so I still
have to deal with repair places, always a pain. I hope the air bed
works out, I would like to hear how it is after a couple of months.
(I still have a waterbed) I know what you mean about the air pump, they
can be really slow. I had a big six man inflatable raft which I
bought a foot pump that worked pretty well. The car pumps don't
always work well for things like air beds for the car pumps are made
more for high pressure, low volume to pump up car tires so they can be
really slow (hours) to pump up an air bed. I bought a Britta water
filter a few months ago and it does OK. It takes out the chlorine
taste but still isn't as good as bottled water. The Britta is just
a basic charcoal filter, it doesn't have any filtration for metals,
bacteria, etc. We just got a PUR filter at work that does
everything the Britta does and does filter heavy metals and bacteria.
The trip to the ATF National Tracing Center yesterday was a total waste.
The ATF project manager for the new project really screwed up and had
about a dozen people from the WRONG group at the meeting and the people
we needed to see were not available so I wasted a day driving to West
Virginia. On top of that the ATF was supposed to have already paid
for the software training we need for the project but it turns out that
the training is not available in the DC area until later this year and
we need it now. It is available in Boston next week so I might be
going to Boston for three days of training but the ATF has to approve it
and modify the contract to allow it which most likely won't happen until
the last movement. Oh well, just part of business.
At least I'm feeling pretty much back to normal so I'm going to play
racquetball tonight and then do Yoga afterwards. Larry
When Julie and I got married she had a waterbed and we had one ever since. The first one I found to be a little wavy but after a few years we got a waveless one which was nice. Since the waterbed was heated it was nice in the wintertime when it was cold.
Julie and I had finished the first semester of yoga classes at the yoga center and in April started taking a Level 2 class with Susan as the teacher.
