Yes I did make the training.  We flew out last Tuesday night and came back Friday night.  Except for both flights being delayed about two hours each it was a pretty uneventful trip.  The training was good and we learned what we needed to build the new system so that was good.  I have always wanted to do a Scotland vacation, from the pictures I've seen of it and from what I've heard from a couple of people who have been there it seems like the kind of place I would like.  Well perhaps some day.  I liked the X-Files, I had read about giant underground fungi and how a single organism could be acres in size. Cross that with a Venus Fly trap and you get a little shop of horrors.  You asked about hiking shoes, I got mine from Eddie Bauer, mail order around $50. 
 
Work will be getting really busy now with the training done and the most of the equipment arriving.  We will start detail design and some prototyping this week.  Well short note for now, back to work.
