Subject: Re: Another busy week
After being so slow for SO long, yesterday was insane. The
hospital is planning a Women's Center and they wanted research on that,
plus a physician asked a question about the use of two drugs with a
particular form of breast cancer, and it took me a long time to find out
that everything was still in the trial stage. Its easy if you
search and you find something, but if you search and find nothing, there
is always the nagging question, "Am I missing it somewhere." So, I
usually try to be more than thorough before I tell someone there isn't
any definitive information. Otherwise--law school of course.
It rained like hell yesterday at 4:30 when I got off, so I was so glad I
had my tennis shoes on and didn't ruin another pair of shoes. The
4th of July week will be sort of a break because I won't have class
Monday, and again, because the prof I have on Wed. also teaches the same
class on Mon., he has cancelled Wed. So that means only Thurs.
class. It will be a relief from this incessant grind. June is
zooming by. I feel at times as if I'm on a treadmill, or sort of
an escalator with time flying by, doing these classes, etc. I've
structured in lately a lot more at home "breaks," a lot of them NPR
stuff. There is a program called "Echos" which comes on at night
and I try to relax with that. I guess its sort of new age music,
but also international music. I overheard some talk about the law
school getting the ABA accreditation (which would allow me to go to ANY
state and practice law if I passed the bar there) BUT the news didn't
sound good. They would have to get at least "provisional status"
before I graduated, and from what I was hearing, it didn't sound good.
It hurts because they've gone up on OUR tuition to finance this, but
I/we may not see the benefit. Well, have to go. I've heard
the new book by Thomas Harris, which is a sequel to the Silence of the
Lambs is really good. Unless I can snag it at the library though,
I'll have to wait until paperback. Elizabeth
