Subject: Re: Nothing Much
Quiet here at work. I've given up on NOT doing my own thing here,
which kind of bothers me, because I'm fairly highly paid to be sitting
here studying employment law cases, but Fridays are always the slowest
day, and lately (although it can change instantly), other days have been
slow as well. My boss was NOT overly rah-rah enthusiastic about
letting me off every Wed. aft. to go to a law class, but I tell you--for
me--I think it will be a life saver. I felt so good "getting out
of here" (have I already e-mailed you all this) and being somewhere else
during the day. It is JUST the break up of the monotony of the
week I need. The day was gorgeous, so just being in the car and getting
out and being briefly outside to walk to class, and then later, since
class got out early, walking over for a cappacino--all felt WONDERFUL.
My boss said it was okay with him to take off, but that I/we should try
it and "see how it works." Also, he indicated it was okay if "not
a regular thing." I guess that means I've burned up the
privilege--BUT, my point of view is I have hundreds of hours of paid
time off coming. I think it is better for the hospital for me to
take off 4 hours a week, then at some point take off two entire weeks.
I'm still mall walking. Since I have that pretty locked in place,
I'm now trying to add a little dietary restriction so hopefully I can
lose some weight. Its already working. Today I felt
exceptionally good. Part of that is the walking, but part of it is
school starting back. I thought this morning that without law
school, I don't know how I would stand this job. I'd have to
create an interest for myself. The only down side to mall walking
is that I have to be VERY disciplined with myself about being in bed NO
LATER THAN 10, and really at about 9:30, and then read 1/2 hour.
Otherwise, I wouldn't get enough sleep and certainly wouldn't want to
get up at 5:40. So far no problem though. Also, on Sat. and
Sun. I don't have to go quite that early.
Otherwise, ditto, nothing much. Elizabeth
