Subject: Nothing Much Continues
I worked yesterday because it's not an officially recognized hospital
holiday. I started to take it off anyway, expecting it would be
slow, but it turned out to be one of the busiest days I've had in ages.
I'm so glad I came in because that work would have piled onto whatever
comes in today. I'm still walking, but some mornings I've had to push
myself to get out of bed, and I'm still plugging away at the Bible, but
am still in Genesis. I discovered that "Dothan" is the name of a
city in the Bible, a factoid I did not know. Otherwise, I sort of
crashed last night. I wanted to watch Family Law, but set the VCR
to tape it, and went ahead and set it to tape the Everest show tonight.
Part of me would really like to "see" Everest. I think you can
make a trek to the base. Any more word on that canal house.
That sounded neat. I got a statement recently from an account I
had with the City when I worked there. I put 200 dollars a month into
two "funds" for a few months, but then I quit. I had 1200 total
"in" when I left in 1997.
My statement showed it had "doubled" to over 2500. I imagined that
if I had stayed and continued doing that, I would have had quite a bit
by now--but oh well. What is even more amazing is that half of the
money was in an international fund, and quarter after quarter it made
nothing, or even went down. Despite that the amount I had in
doubled. Oh well, while its slow I better get organized. I'm
sitting in on a Tax class on Tuesdays, but I'm not registered for it.
That kills Tues. night, because we go to 9:30. Then I have my
"real" class on Wed., so I have to be organized for that ahead of time,
as I can't get ready Tuesday night. I try to do a little at work.
