Happy Valentines' Day!! The thing about the X-files though--you
think something has been answered one way and then the answer changes
later. Also, I couldn't quite figure out what the experiments on
his sister were. Was there an alien component to that? I
finally decided to tape the second half of Madame Bovary and watch
X-files and The Practice. Both were pretty good I thought. I
read Madame Bovary at Univ. of Fl. and even after all these years it has
stayed with me. The PBS version was supposed to be pretty good.
The movie "Homicide" was supposed to also be quite good, but I decided
not to tape it as I've never been a real fan, watching only an
occasional show. My videos are a mess. Last night, even though I
have stacks and stacks of tapes, I had a hard time finding a blank one.
I've vowed not to buy any more blank tapes because I have so much
recorded already, it would take me a month of watching to catch up. Why
exactly do you want to go to AOL, if they offer? It seems you get
to travel quite a bit with your present job. I THINK I would like that,
but maybe not. One thing I dislike about my present job is NEVER
getting to go anywhere. As an academic librarian there were always
lectures and conferences. Most were local, but at least it was
getting out of being in the same building day after day. I saw an
advertisement for "power yoga." You've been studying yoga for
quite some time, haven't you. When did you start? I've been
to classes on and off, and have several books, but I do it infrequently.
I really liked the yoga components in karate. Well, I'm rambling
because the day is off to a slow start. Did I mention that law
school tuition may be going up AGAIN for this summer. I'm shaking
my head over that. This weekend I REALLY got to thinking about
going to that place in Scotland I discovered on the internet.
Apparently there are quite a few hiking trails along the lochs, etc.
It just feels like what I'd like to do, although I've always thought
that if I got a chance to go to Europe I'd do cultural things rather
than geographic things--I mean museums and stuff. Elizabeth
As many times in her emails that she mentioned recording some show or another, then her saying about having “stacks and stacks” of tapes, I had this vision of her in her tiny apartment, one chair with a TV on a table in front of it, and then everywhere you looked there were stacks of VCR tapes and books, on tables, on the floor, on overflowing shelves, stacked on the one other chair in the room leaving no room for a guest to sit.
