Subject:        R U watching MARS Mini-series on National Geographic
 
Hello Larry,
 
I just wondered if you've been able to watch and follow the mini-series which National Geographic has been doing on Mars.  I just watched the latest episode.  It seems like something you would be very interested in perhaps.  The season finale is next Monday.  It is an interesting format because a story of a fictional future journey to colonize Mars is interspersed with short breakout discussions about the actual science and planning for a Mars mission and colonization. Tonight's episode was especially good because it focused on the psychological aspects for crew members. Apparently, Russia did a simulated analog of a Mars journey, I think with six crew, but only two came through psychologically stable.  If you haven't been watching it, this coming Sunday (Dec. 18th) NG will be doing a repeat of all episodes to date (4 or 5?) starting in late afternoon.  Then, the season finale will be on Monday night.  The series is also available on demand.
