Family Reunion

Space Shuttles

It was a good year for the Space Shuttle starting in April when the newest shuttle Challenger had its first flight.   There were three more space shuttle missions in ‘83, two more by Challenger and one by Columbia.   While I did not drive up to Coco Beach to see any of them, I would always go outside to see them go up from my back yard or from the parking lot if I was at work.

Family Reunion

On Labor Julie, Anne and I went up to Gainesville for a family reunion which was an Uncle Gary’s new house.  Uncle Gary had just bought a log cabin house on 10th Avenue in Gainesville.  It was a beautiful old log cabin with a huge main living room looking like a lodge one would find in the mountains with a twenty foot ceiling and stone fireplace at the end.  We would have several family reunions there in the following years.
