In May 1990 the housing sales were looking better so we decided to sell our house in Florida and informed renters, who had been renting our house for the past year, to move out. After the renters moved out at the end of June, Julie and I flew down to Florida for a few days to clean the house and get it ready to put on the market. The renters had left it in good condition but there was one odd thing, none the lights in the house worked. At first, I thought the circuit breakers were off, but after checking I found them on. It turned out that every light bulb in the house was burned out. They were all working when we rented the house, and it would be unlikely that all of them had burned out in a year. It was like the renters had replaced all the working bulbs with burned out bulbs which was odd for where did they get six or eight burned out bulbs. I suppose a power surge from a nearby lighting strike could have done it, but that would have likely caused other damage. Oh well, it will remain a mystery. We replaced the bulbs, cleaned the house and put it on the market with the same realtor we used to buy it from.
