The first of January I signed up for the winter yoga session at HAYC, again for the Level 2 class with Susan as the instructor. Unlike the Level 1 and 1-2 classes that had a fixed syllabus, Level 2 classes were different each session with a focus on different types of poses. One session the focus might be on standing poses, the next session on seated poses, twists or backbend. I was really beginning to like yoga.

Journal Entry
A new year starting with
uncertainty. The past year has been one of turmoil and grief. My
marriage to Julie, my wife of eighteen years, went from one of
considerable hope to utter disaster with her leaving me. Although she
has left me physically by moving out she has not deserted me for we
still see each other several times a week. Oh, but still, the loneliness
sets in when she is not here, I do mess her terribly.
This is a time of introspect, to re-examine who I am, and who I want to
be. Time to reassess the past and speculate on the future.
Mom and Bob at Mom and Dad's house
The second week of January Bob Schwander came up from Zephyrhills to Gainesville to visit his sister, Grandma Junior, in the nursing home. Although Bob is Mom’s uncle, being only three years older than Mom, he had always been more of a brother than an uncle for Mom and they were especially close since they have the same birthday. Almost every year since Mom was married Bob called Mom on their birthday and this year they shared it together.
