James Mixon, s. of Jesse & Sarah Bowen Mixon, b. in South Carolina, ca. 1804, d. in Henry County, AL, 1865, leaving a will dated Jan 25, 1865 in which he names his wife and children. He was a planter and owned a fine farm a few miles east of Headland. He m. Feb 12, 1826 to Rebecca Locke in Crawford County, GA, b. in 1806, d. after 1870. Their children were all b. in AL, except the first one, which was b. in GA.

William Mixon, second s. of Jesse and Sarah Mixon, was b. in Georgia ca. 1805, d. in Telfair County after 1870. About 1826, he m. Delilah Burkett Shown in all censuses of Telfair County up to and including 1870 census. Not shown in 1880 census. Census records indicate the following lineup for family. The names of some children are not yet known.

Edward (Ned) B. Mixon, s. of Jesse and Sarah Bowen Mixon, was b. probably in Bulloch County, GA about 1810, d. Nov 6, 1887 in Wilcox County, GA abt 1827, he m. Lucinda Posey, b. 1811, d. 1895. He was a planter, a farm overseer, cattleman, and was Bailiff of the Grand Jury of Wilcox County from its beginning until the time of his death. A member of the Masonic fraternity, he had served as Master of his Lodge for a number of years.
