David Jesse Mixon, s. of James and Rebecca Locke Mixon, was b. in Henry County, AL, 1830, d. Oct, 1863. On May 14, 1852, he m. Lydia Kirkland, b. 1825, d. after 1880. Mr. Mixon d. Oct, 1863, and the Probate Court ordered his property sold and the heirs paid off in Confederate money. Confederate Service records show David J. Mixon, Seventh Confederate Cavalry (Claiborne's Regiment. Partisan Rangers; 7th Regiment, Confederate Partisan Rangers) Named in the proceedings is the widow and her four children, all under age 14.

He and wife had just married evidently when the couple is shown in Henry County, AL.
