James Darlington Mixson
December 31, 1848 - March 12, 1928

James Darlington Mixson died at the age of 79.  Born in South Carolina, James came to Florida with his father Charles Jones Mixson in 1855, settling in the Flemington area of Marion County.  James family prospered, having twelve children by two wives, Lois Rachel Smith and Mary E. Reeves, both who passed before him.   

James is survived by his sons James Gilbert Mixson, Job Spurgeon Mixson, Henry Walkup Mixson, Wilbur Darlington Mixson, Charles Ben Mixson, Maxey Miles Mixson and his daughters Mary Talula Feaster (Jacob), Hettie Viola Hatteree (Robert), Julie Estelle Gladney (John), Alice Gertrude Bell (Claude), Bessie Ola Turner (Aden), Lois Rachel Marsh (Charles), over twenty five grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren.

The funeral took place at the Methodist chruch at Wachoota and interment was made in the church cemetery.
