Monday, July 6, 1959

Went to register the kids to go swimming & then took them skating. Made them all (Janice too) take a nap. Read a story in my new Readers Digest Con. Book I got today.

Tuesday, July 7, 1959

Boy, I really cleaned the house today! First time in weeks.

Wednesday, July 8, 1959

Washed, lined & ironed Brenda’s bedspread & curtains & did the weeks ironing this morning. Went to Ocala this afternoon with Morris (he had to set up a Sign-O-Meter at the courthouse) & then we went out & ate supper with Charlie & Emily. Had a nice visit. Goth home about 10 o’clock.

Thursday, July 9, 1959

Took the kids to their first swimming lesson at Glen Springs this morning. Went to Magnesia Springs with Betty & Billy this afternoon & Larry fell & cut his head right over his eye. Rushed him to the Dr. & he had 5 stitches. Ate our picnic lunch at our house & w played Canasta until about 11 o’clock when Betty & Billy left.

Friday, July 10, 1959

Well, Brenda fell this morning right before lunch & cut her leg & we had to rush her to the Dr. & she had 4 stitches taken!  That means no swimming lessons for a week or so. Morris went to work tonight so I read. Bought groceries this afternoon.

Saturday, July 11, 1959

Morris worked for Daddy all day & I cleaned up & then read. It rained all day.

Sunday, July 12, 1959

We all went to S.S. & church this morning. Charlie & Emily & boys from Ocala came this afternoon & ate supper with us. They left about 8 o’clock.

Monday, July 13, 1959

Took the kids skating for the last time today. Only Janice & David could skate. Larry had the stiches out this afternoon.  Morris mowed the lawn tonight. I went to my S.S. class meeting at Mrs. Folker’s house. Only 4 came, maybe because it was raining.

Tuesday, July 14, 1959

Well Gary left for Jacksonville today at noon & then Mom & Dad took off for New Orleans. Daddy is going thro that clinic up there to see what ails him. Corky is staying with us. Ironed today.

Wednesday, July 15, 1959

Gary called & he passed his examination & he’s on his way to Calif. 4 years of the Navy. Got my package from Sears. The luggage is so nice. First time we’ve ever had any.  Also got some green sheets & p. cases for the boys room & a floor lamp for the porch. Cleaned the kitchen good today & wrote a letter to Sue. Only 3 weeks til I leave for Ridgecrest.

Thursday, July 16, 1959

That Corky!  He’s really a spoiled brat. Be glad when Mom & Dad get home. Tried to clean today but with all these kids around here it’s almost impossible.

Friday, July 17, 1959

Bought groceries & went uptown & took the kids to the show this afternoon to see “The Big Circus”. It sure was good. Got Brenda’s stitches out this afternoon but they aren’t healed good yet.  Ate supper with Donald & Irene tonight. Sure enjoyed it.

Saturday, July 18, 1959

Got up at 6:30 this morning & go ready to go to Deland for Morris to fix a Sign-O-Meter. We then went over to see Joyce and Wyndall at Sanford. They were so glad to see us. The second time we’ve seen them since we’ve been married. It sure seemed good. Took Daddy’s air-conditioned car & the whole trip was nice. We ate lunch out & got home about 7.

Sunday, July 19, 1959

Went to S.S. this morning while Morris stayed in bed! We all took a nap this afternoon. We were all quite tired from our long trip yesterday. I helped to serve the choir their supper at the church tonight. It’s our circles job for this month.

Monday, July 20, 1959

Washed about all day today I do believe. Sure seems good to have Morris home at night. He’s not working while Daddy’s gone.

Tuesday, July  21, 1959

Went to my circle meeting at the church today & then over to watch Larry take his swimming lesson. His head sure has healed up nicely. Poor Brenda can’t go until next Tuesday. We let Corky, Douglas, Hank, Larry, David camp out tonight out in the back yard in Hank’s tent. All stayed out all night except Larry. They really had a big time.

Wednesday, July 22, 1959

Mom & Dad got home from New Orleans tonight. There’s nothing much wrong with Dad only nervous & overweight. Betty came up today with her kids & ate lunch with us. I mostly ironed all day I do believe!  It really rained today.

Thursday, July 23, 1959

Cleaned house good today.

Friday, July 24, 1959

Sunday, July 26, 1959

Went to S.S. & then out to Mixsons for dinner. Just before supper we were playing out on the lawn doing “tricks” & Brenda fell on her arm & broke it. Rushed to the hospital & were there about 3 hours. The Dr. put her to sleep & set it in the emergency room. She was so good about it. Bless her heart.

Monday, July 37, 1959

Well Morris started painting today. Am doing all the woodwork & trim outdoors dark brown. Took a ride around this evening. Even look at the new Chev. (Station Wagon). We sure do need a new one.

Tuesday, July  28, 1959

Morris still painting. I ironed today.

Wednesday, July 29

Took Brenda to the Dr. for her fingers swelled up so & they itched so bad. Mixsons came up about noon & ate dinner with us & supper. Grandma spent the night so she can go to Silver Glen tomorrow with us. Boy, I was glad to see her, you ought to see the minding she did for me on the sewing machine! She’s so good about things like that!

Thursday, July 30, 1959

Got up early this morning & got to Silver Glen about 10:15. Really enjoyed the day. Joyce & Wyndall were there too & we had the best time. Went by & took Grandma home & stayed & ate supper with them. Went to bed about 9 o’clock.

Friday, July 31, 1959

Boy, I spent the money today! Morris got paid & he got a $200.00 a year raise which means $10. More a month clear. Spent $26.00 on groceries & got my clothes out of lay-a-way. A new dress (light green sun dress), 3 bras, slip, girdle & shorty PJ’s. Mom & Dad got home from S. Fla. Tonight & went over to see them. Carol called from Atlanta & Dixie had a mis-carriage so Mom’s going up there.
