Tuesday, September 1, 1959

First day of school, in the new school “Littlewood” too.  Kids seem to like their teachers. Daavid has a bad cold & fees orgy!  Carol & her two girls spent the day with us. Vandy was so good; played on the floor all day.

Wednesday, September 2, 1959

Well at last I go all the clothes dried in between rains. Changed the beds & cleaned house good. Sure seems funny with all the kids gone to school. I sure can work fast. Ironed this afternoon, but didn’t finish. Brenda brought home homework to do so helped her with it. Can’t believe she’s in the 3rd grade.

Friday, September 4, 1959

Went to buy groceries & stopped by the church & got talking to Mr. Battle about Sun Beams & stayed practically all morning.

Saturday, September 5, 1959

Did my work this morning & went over to Mom’s as Carol is leaving today. Bobby & his folks got here this morning. Spent all afternoon at Mom’s. Had quite a storm while we were there.

Sunday, September 6, 1959

Went out to Mixsons early this morning so Morris could mow their grass & they weren’t home so after he finished we went over to Betty & Billy’s & ate dinner with them & spent the afternoon.

Monday, September 7, 1959 Labor Day

Labor Day & we have labored! Worked all day. Washed, cleaned house, & did the screens & windows in the L.R. – Boy’s BR & Bathroom. The kids were so good helping me all day long. Morris worked in the yard. And what a storm we had tonight.

Started to take care of Susie Thorpe today. A little girl 4 years old, her daddy works with Morris & her mother is a school teacher at Kirby Smith.

Had a meeting with my sun beams workers. Got 6 so far and all seem good.

Friday, September 11, 1959

Went to town & got our new driver’s license & met Betty up there. Came home & ate lunch & picked up David & then Betty & us went to buy groceries. Rained all afternoon.

Saturday, September 12, 1959

Washed & cleaned house & took a nap this afternoon. Morris gave Happy a bath, while I gossiped with Doris. After supper went riding & went by & saw Donald & Irene for awhile. I’ve got a “frog” in my throat & can hardly sleep. Rained practically all day again.

Sunday, September 13, 1959

We all went to S.S. & church this morning. Rained all day. Went to open house out in the new sub-division & then over to Mom’s to eat supper with them.

Monday, September 14, 1959

Had S.S. class meeting tonight at our house. Had party too for the girls that are leaving us. Had 17 present & really had a good time. Helen Anthony helped me.

Went to circle meeting today & then stopped by & saw Dot for awhile.

Wednesday, September 16, 1959

Mom, Dad & corky came over for supper. Morris stayed in bed all day with a bad cold. Went to the Dr. & he said he thought it might be hay fever. Decided to let Brenda take tap lessons as Doris will take her while & take care of her kids.

Boy, have I felt sick today! I flopped around all day. Sure hope I’m not P.G.!

Wednesday, September 23, 1959

Had a Sunbeam meeting with Marie Lewis this morning. Took care of Doris’s kids while she took Brenda & Becky to tap. Brenda is so thrilled I’m glad I let her take although we can’t really afford it. Still feel sick today too. Guess its’ a virus that going around.

Thursday, September 24, 1959

Cleaned house real good today & finished ironing. Feel better today, and I worked like a nigger to make up for Tues. & Wed.

Friday, September 25, 1959

Waited on Betty to come to go to town with me and she never did come, so Susie & I went. Went by Chestnuts & bought supplies for Sunbeams. Had to pick up David & then go back to buy groceries.

Saturday, September 26, 1959

Morris went to the first football game this afternoon. Daddy went with him. Kids & I stayed home all day & I worked in the house & washed.

Sunday, September 27, 1959

Kids & I went to S.S. & then over to hear daddy preach at Ridge View. Morris went to work over at daddy’s Emergency!

Monday, September 28, 1959

Boy did I rush today. Mom took care of Susie & David & went & got Brenda & Larry from school & I went to Ocala to a WMU meeting. Didn’t get home until 5 o’clock & am I tired! Went to bed at 8:30.

Tuesday, September  29, 1959

Gary got in today. Went to see him for a minute tonight. He looks real good, he lost quite a lot of weight & really looks cute in his uniform.

Wednesday, September 30, 1959

Just now trying to clean house & do the ironing. Had to take David to the dentist, he put filling in two teeth, and also had a Sunbeam meeting with Norma and Susie, my workers for the 4 & 5 yr. olds.
