Yes the rails-to-trails are great. I can't believe that people would
oppose the conversion, but then you are in Alabama. There are several
rails-to-trails in Florida, Gainesville even has one that goes from
Gainesville to Hawthorne. The Duneidin-Clearwater area is nice, I have
several relative’s in that area and was down there year before last for
our family reunion. Although I love many things about Florida I don't
miss the heat at all. The change of seasons, cold weather, snow, spring
flowers, fall colors are a lot more exciting up here. I do miss the
slower pace of Florida though.
The Sierra Club is a great organization, we had joined a year or two but
are not currently members. Having the beach property and being able to
there sounds great! The beaches up here are dismal at best, I do miss the
beaches of Florida.
