Your absence from work or writing has returned lunch to the highlight of
my day thus far, although I have done some interesting research
projects. At least I could feel virtuous with my new plan of bringing a
sandwich and banana and only getting a salad in line. It was reenforcing
because when I eyeballed what was being served, it was all southern, or
saucy, or fried. One good thing done here is that the menus come out a
week in advance, so it is possible to plan to eat on days when something
less heavy is offered (which is really very seldom actually).
I had a cholesterol and triglycerides done recently, at Wal-Mart of all
places, but they had a good deal and I had never had triglycerides
measured, only cholesterol. Everything was within recommended limits,
but I was at the high end of recommended. It would not hurt me to drop
my cholesterol 10-20 points. Have you followed any special trajectory
for yourself given your father's experience with a heart attack? The
data seem to be very clear that cholesterol levels below 200 create the
least risk, down to about 150 at which point there is very little
improvement in risk. The thing is, I do not recall your father as being
overweight, nor a smoker, but I don't clearly recall the latter. Also,
his job didn't seem the type of stressful situation that would be
harmful. As well, didn't he constantly work in the yard etc.
Well, I have a project to do. I was writing during the last minutes of
my lunch break.
