Subject: RE: Types & connections
I got back from the computer show[1] and found your message waiting so
thought I would spend a couple of minutes and reply. The show was fun
and I picked up some good information along with a lot of "toys". The
vendors like to give away pens, balls, CDs, keychains, and many other
things. One vendor had Whoopie Goldberg at their booth and you could get
your picture taken with her. I skipped it. After walking around for
three hours I didn't have the energy to walk the 3/4 mile down to the
tidal basin and see the cherry blossoms. The blossoms are both pink and
white as there are two different types of trees. China gave the US the
first trees many years ago and since then hundreds more have been
planted all around the basin, Jefferson Memorial and Washington
Monument. It is quite beautiful to walk around the basin and monuments
under the trees. Towards the end the blossoms start to fall and it is
like a snow of petals.

On the way down I remembered my
Myers Briggs type was INTP. When I got back I took the test (thanks
for the pointers to the site) and again "scored" an INTP.[2]
I will have to search out Boogie nights from home because doing so from
work can be trouble. If someone saw something "sexual" on the screen
then it can be grounds for dismissal.
Half X rated dreams about me, hmmm, that's seems intriguing. Was only
half the dream x rated or is 1/2 x more like R rated? Anyway I do find
it fascinating and interesting how quickly we have become "close" to
each other after so many years of not hearing from each other.
I just had another "reconnection" to someone I once new. I was checking
my email on CompuServe and found a message from a guy that used to work
for me several years ago at ICL. His message was announcing that he and
his wife just had a new baby girl. He left before they laid everyone off
and moved with his wife to Washington to work for Microsoft. He says he
works on the Microsoft Outlook product which is what I am using now to
write this message. In addition to that I am looking at imaging products
for my new job and two guys I used to work for at DynCorp now work in
the imaging group at Eastman (Kodak) so I called them up and may be
doing some business with them. It must be the year for reconnecting.
If you can hear music when you visit web sites then you must have
speakers and a sound card. I spent a lot of time the last few months at
my last job visiting web sites that had sound and video. There are
actually hundreds of radio stations through out the U.S. and world that
broadcast their stations on the web. Likewise there are a lot of video
sites. I used to watch FOX news on the web. You need to download the
RealAudio and RealVideo player add-ons for your web browser (see
www.real.com).[3]
I checked out the Cyber Law Journal on the NYT, looks interesting. I'll
bookmark it so I can check it out on a more regular basis.
Well that's all for now.

[1] The FOSE, a Federal
government technical convention, was at the Washington DC convention
center which had several vendor booths about document imagining so my
new company said I could go.
[2] The
Myers Briggs type INTP is Introversion-Intuition-Thinking-Perceiving
which has the description “Intellectual, logical, precise, reserved,
flexible, imaginative. Original thinkers who enjoy speculation and
creative problem solving.” Yes, sounds like me. Elizabeth said she
also was INT but didn’t say what the last letter was. I took the test
again ten or so years later and my “I” Introversion was significantly
less then when I first took the test.
[3] At this time (1998) web browsers did not
have the ability to play music or videos built into the browser so you
had to install a extension or add-on to the browser to play them. The
“Real” add-on was one of the most popular.
