I got your earlier message about the virtual university and was able to
view the attachment OK. I had checked out virtual u's a couple of months
ago and got some information on Phoenix U. PU has a couple of master
programs I was interested in but am not sure I am ready to start such a
program. I'll have to see how the new job goes in a couple of months.
The new job will pay for master program degrees so that's good. When I
hear you talk about the TON of work you have to do for your classes it
makes wonder if I really want to take that on. What, give up some of my
three nights of racquetball :-) But I know it is just a matter of
priorities.[1]
I have been spending most of the day researching and reading up on
various imaging products that we might use on the project for the ATF.
It has been about two years since I last was doing imaging work so I
have to brush up on the latest software, systems, components, etc.
The tidal basin is a round lake like body of water that is connected to
the Potomac river. The river at this point is only a few miles from the
Chesapeake Bay which is connected to the ocean so the river still has
tides here in Washington. The Jefferson Memorial, Washington Memorial
and Lincoln Memorial and the new FDR memorial are all on or very near
the tidal basin. Check out www. mapquest.com for a map. You are right,
it was Japan.
Yes adding the drive time for the trip to Florida really makes it take a
lot longer. When Julie and I did it in February we debated whether to
fly or drive. Flying is much quicker but for two costs more. For one, if
you plan in advance, you can fly from DC to Jax or Orlando about as
cheap as you can drive but then you get there and don't have a car.
That's OK if I go visit my parents as I can usually borrow one of their
cars if I need to. On the other hand, the long drive to Fla can give one
time to think and reflect on life. It sounds like you might need that
time for your trip.

[1] I played racquetball
Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday evenings. I would go direction from work to the
Worldgate Sport and Fitness club in Herndon and play until about 7 pm.
Before racquetball existed, I had played handball back in the early 70’s
[link 1972] and then switched to racquetball in 1976 [link Life is a
Beach]. At this time in 1998 I was quite serious about racquetball and
was getting pretty good at it. The club had “round-robin” nights which
you put your name on a list which the person at the top would play the
next game. If you won a game you would stay on the court for a second
game but after winning two games you came off thus one person who was
really good didn’t hog the court all night.
