Hello. Nothing much new to communicate. School has started
back, so every Mon, Tues, Wed I have class. I have Constitutional
Law, Property and Contracts II. So far my plan of going straight
home after work, instead of going straight to school, is working out. I
started out thinking the first two terms that it was un-productive to
swing by the apt. before class because I basically only have about an
hour and ten minutes before having to leave again. So, I would go
straight to school and study or read in the library. But it is
working out. If it's a walking day, I do a 30 min. walk, then eat,
while listening to the local news. If it's a non-walking day, I
like to listen to Jeopardy to clear my mind, while I do odds and ends of
small chores in the kitchen, and get something to eat while I listen to
the news. The only drawback to going to class so immediately
before it starts is that I don't get my "favorite" seat, which I've had
for several classes in a row.
I'm still sticking to my "diet" or watching what I eat. One thing
about having gone to that class last year is that I can quickly
establish the pattern of what to eat, and about how much, without
actually having to "count" everyday. The one benefit of actually
counting though is that if I get hungry, I can look at my "count" and
see where I am, and decide what I might have. If I don't have a record,
I may have actually eaten far too little, which is not good, as I don't
eat that much during the day.
I'm still in a quandry about my visit to my mother. My latest
decision was to go this weekend, which is Mother's Day, but I woke up
this morning feeling "resistance."
I don't think that I mentioned that the tuition hike is because the
school is trying to get accredited nationally. If it succeeds,
which seems pretty likely, it will take a few years, probably two, but
if I haven't graduated BEFORE the conditional approval, I will be
considered as graduating from an "approved" school nationally. The
major benefit of that is that I could go to ANY state, and if I passed
their bar exam, I could practice there. Right now, I could only
practice here, or in Florida, and I think one or two more states that
have regional accreditation with us. Obviously I hope for
accreditation.
So, are you enjoying your left overs. What a major undertaking!
My impatiens are nicely blooming, and I'm glad I got them potted when I
did. The cool weather kept them back for a while, but now the pots
are all blooming. I like impatiens because it is pretty hardy,
seems to take the heat, doesn't suffer too much if I forget to water it,
and will keep blooming through the summer. My favorite color is the dark
coral.
Are you reading anything lately? I started a lawyer novel by a
female writer I sort of like, Sarah Gregory. Also, I started
another novel called Obsession which I had read interesting comments
about.
I still don't have my grades. It may still be a while, as they are
rather slow to be come out. Students have secret numbers and the
grades are posted on a bulletin board. It's quite a gathering
place.
Are you and your friend at work managing to lunch together, or are you
still bagging it? Did you ever hear from Wendy? Sounds as if
you got a good deal on tickets, but that's predicated on having someone
able to pick you up. I forgot/forget how close Gainesville is to
Jax and other places. It was quite a central little city. I
actually liked Gainesville very much, and I thought it was a nice place
to live, however, I felt I didn't have an economic niche their.
When I would apply for jobs there would be a list of Ph.D.'s (many of
them faculty wives back then) wanting the same job. Gainesville
was/is very progressive, having tree ordinances, etc. I wonder if
the "growers" still make their anonymous donation every year to charity
as they did for so long. I wonder if Micanope has really developed
as a bedroom community. It probably has. Do you ever
consider going back there?

She seem to be quite interested in my life and what was going on with me.
