How was your beach trip? Congratulations on your A. I am
sure that it must make you really feel good .
The Millenium devil spoof was really weird, not the usual. Did you
get back in time to see the season final X-Files? It really leaves
a lot of unanswered questions.
Saturday we drove up to Fredrick MD. to pick up our stained glass piece.
The artist was is from NY. and was at a craft show at the Fredrick
fairgrounds so we met him their so we didn't have to have it shipped.
The piece was beautiful, it is called the "Tree of Life" with a tree,
green hills and deep blue sky. When we go home we unwrapped it and
found it was the wrong size. It was 36" wide and 30" tall when it
was supposed to be the opposite, 30 wide and 36 tall. Well it
didn't fit in the window we had planned for it. So we jumped back
into the car and drove back to Frederick, it's an hour drive, and met
with the artist to see what we could do about it. He was real nice
about it saying it was neither of our or his fault but he recognized
that we couldn't use the piece but he also thought he might have
problems selling it. We finally settled on giving him some
additional money to cover the materials and he would make us another
one. The only problem was that he has nine shows coming up and
would not be able to get it to us until October.
I spent most of Sunday repainting the front deck and preparing the back
deck area for the new fish pool. It was really hot, in the 90's.
For the past several weeks it has been in the mid to upper 60's with an
occasional mid 70. To go from mid 60's to 90 was a big change.
Well, back to work.
Larry
The artist did re-make the piece a couple of months later we again drove
back
up to an art show in Maryland and picked it up.
Tree of Life Stanied glass that now hangs in my bathroom window.
