Have a good trip. Thanks for the music suggestions. I may
try and identify the song I liked on one of the albums. It may be
a more recent one. I don't have much time to write, as I have to
use my breaks and lunch to try and brief some cases. I think the
fires are still burning in Florida. Elizabeth
That Wednesday I flew down to Jacksonville as planned and Mom and Dad drove up from Gainesville to pick me up. The drive back to Gainesville was like a scene out of some apocalyptic movie like Apocalypse Now. Upon leaving the airport and taking I-10 West the smell of smoke hung heavy in the air with the smoke drifting across the road like a heavy fog making poor visibility. For miles, on both sides of the road, you would get glimpses of black scorched earth with blackened pine trees rising up, many still smoldering. As we turned south on highway 301 it started to get better and upon reaching Gainesville the smoke was mostly gone but there was still a slight scent of it in the air.
The family reunion was one of the best that the family ever held with being held at Magnesia Springs that Uncle Gary owned at the time. Uncle Cork and Aunt Carole wrote a movie script which each family member had a part. It was all great fun. Read the whole story here.
