No, it is not a trailer it is an upside down L that attaches to the ball
of the hitch and the bikes are hung on the arm of the L. It can be taken
off and put back on in about 5 seconds so it can be easily removed to
get into the back of the truck.
I know what you mean about annual rituals, some of ours are the cherry
blossoms at the tidal basin in spring, followed by the azaleas at the
National Arboretum, hiking up Old Rag in the fall and now it looks like
we'll add the summer rafting trip.
I sent another letter to Sean asking if he/Wendy sent a reply and he
sent back a rather tart reply about they hadn't got internet at home yet
but were working on it.
I hope your friend is OK. I am not sure why it takes having a mild
(or worse) heart attack to wake people up. I went though it with
my father. He went through triple heart bypass about 18 years ago.
He was real good for several years and lost a lot of weight but has now
gained it back. He and mom improved their diet somewhat but it is
still way too high in fat and they get little exercise. Sometimes
it is hard to change a lifetime of habit.
