Subject: Just Hello
A very busy day, and I just got to sit down. I know you've heard
this before from me, but unfortunately it's time to gear up for finals
once again--they'll be here soon, the first two weeks of December.
It seems like I was just writing that a few days ago. There is an
exhibit opening at the museum this weekend on "American Impressionism."
I think I told you I started going to an art history course which meets
for an hour on Mondays, from 6-7. I needed something other than law
school as an "activity." The first lecture was on Amer. Imp., to
coincide with the exhibit. Tonight there is another special
lecture on Amer. Imp. and the opening reception for the exhibit, so I'm
going to it. The lecture this week was on Tiffany. I didn't
know much about his works, but I found out that one of the largest
collections is in Winter Park at a museum. I never knew that. The
museum has some of his glassware and some is quite elegant, but some I
don't like at all--it almost seems gaudy. How was Van Gogh?
I think at about the time you went, you got too busy and too involved to
write. I'll be thinking about you this weekend. It all seems
"unreal" that this is happening to you, but maybe it's all too real for
you. Take care. Elizabeth
Oh P.S. I got my evaluation today. It was kind of strange because
the "boss" seemed uncomfortable doing it, which was actually just
delivering it to me. He didn't even want to sit down.
However, I've learned he really doesn't get into personnel functions
very much. He gave me a very good evaluation, so that means I got a
raise. It figured out to about 100/month, which is not enormous,
but its all on a step grade basis, and I'll just view it as extra pocket
money. If you don't have a good evaluation, your raise is even
smaller, or you don't get one at all.
