Did you get to see the Frank Lloyd Wright special last night on PBS.
I didn't think I would, but for some reason we got out of class before
nine when it started. I wanted to go to bed early, because I was
very tired, but I flipped on the show just to get a peek and ended up
watching it all. The second half is tonight. Alot of last
night was about his personal life, and I certainly didn't know about it,
i.e. how he had several different affairs, and how he lost his "true
love" in a tragic murder episode. Also, I seem to recall there is
a FLW house in Gainesville, but I may be remembering wrong. I recall
that you got to see Falling Waters recently. Apparently, that
was/is one of his later places, built after people had sort of given up
on him. I would like to go back to Chicago some time When I was there on
a conference I had a really good time and went on a bus tour to see all
of FLW's building in Oak Park where he lived. Work radically
slacked off after last week being absolutely insane, so now I feel a
little restless, esp. because finals are approaching and I could use my
time elsewhere than here. I had a real toss up in my mind whether
to take 2 courses or 3 next term. I decided on 3, because in some
ways, paradoxically, the more "I take it easy" the longer and possibly
harder the road becomes to getting through. Also, taking 3 leaves
me with virtually no spending money. I know with the turmoil in
your house, you may not have thought ahead, but will you go down to
Florida for Xmas, etc. I'm trying to plan my brief time off after
finals. Its not as much as last year as I have a late final.
