It's good to hear from you. I knew you had gone to Cincinnati, so
I think after my last message I didn't write again, although I did try
on Wed. before Thanksgiving, but there was too much traffic. (Also, see
what I say below as well, which may have been a factor).
Thanksgiving I went out to "lunch" with a friend with whom I used to
work at the public library. We did that last year, and are sort of
making it a tradition. She is single as well, although she has a
daughter in town, but they never do anything together. It's really a
non-pressure thing, which we both also enjoy. She treated and so
the next day when I went to the "bread store" I picked up a few packages
of multigrain bagels which I know she likes and took them to the library
for her. The trip also reminded me HOW MUCH I am glad I don't
still work there as the public library is always open the day after
Thanksgiving and that weekend as well. Here I was off both days
and the weekend--which I enjoyed immensely. I think both of us really
enjoy just sitting and relaxing for an hour or two and talking. I
also studied ALOT, and walked and really enjoyed the weather. I
was a little disappointed because I taped the X-files marathon from
Thanksgiving Day, but for some reason my tapes didn't turn out--I lost
alot. That's never happened before to me. I had picture, but
no sound. Do you think that can happen if you use an "old" tape or
one that has been used many times. I know my VCR is okay because I
taped Rear Window with Christopher Reeve (which I thought was excellent,
and it turned out okay). I was glad that I had actually watched some of
the episodes during the day as they played (there went on from 11-11),
because they did two of my favorites, the one about the vampires and the
one about the monster boy who loved Cher. I very much enjoyed the
weather. It was and is still almost perfect. I think it has
been the best weather all year--getting up to maybe 70 in the day,
dropping to about 45 at night. I've been sleeping for about a week
or so with my windows open. (I'm so HAPPY that my downstairs apt.
neighbors MOVED OUT, as they used to sit out on the porch and smoke, and
then I couldn't keep my windows open because I would smell it.
GOOD RIDDANCE. I'm in a mild anxiety state about finals--I have an
incredible amount of material to learn. I study and study, but
later I still can't recall it all. Apart from me, I don't know
about your "situation," but then its "yours." At first I was bothered
(?) because you seem so closed about it, and uncommunicative, except in
broad strokes--like bad day or awkward, etc. It's like you've shut it
down, or maybe never opened it up. I had to examine my
expectations, and I guess I thought you would have shared more.
But, as people say, "Its your business." Anyway, how about that X-files
this last Sunday--did you catch it. I really like that show.
My first final is next Thursday (not this week as we still have class
this week), then I have the weekend and the last final Monday.
That's Dec. 14. Then I'M FREE, but classes start back SO EARLY,
Jan. 4. I think it's 20 days. Elizabeth
