I had this mis-conception about Baltimore being a long trip--I
forget/forgot you are in D.C. My perspective was way off. If
you like Wendy's pitas you may like Taco Bells--and right now they are
only 99 cents. I studied all weekend, but with difficulty. I
kept falling asleep, even though I had had enough sleep. The
weather induced that as it was cold and wet. I am going to try and
do some major sneak time here at work, then leave early. I just
haven't had the best control of this semester. In part it was due
to the fact that I delayed much of the grief about mother from last
semester, and dealt with it alot this semester. Last semester with
three courses, it was just impossible to stop or cry, or reflect, or do
anything emotionally. At times this semester I have been deeply
saddened by my mother's non-existence, and it comes up in trivial ways,
for example when I am cooking or doing something around the house.
Then I think, she will never enjoy anything anymore--even a simple
cheese sandwich, which she always liked. Also though, I have to
admit, I have done a lot of extracurricular reading. I think very
few other students do that, but I refuse to give it up.
X-files was a little bizarre and bloody for a Christmas show, but clever
in a way. I kept wishing the script would have shown what they
gave each other for Christmas. The Practice keeps getting better
and better.
Those were my two time splurges last night, even though during every
commercial I "did stuff" so I didn't waste all the time. So do the
cats use the condo. They are so funny. Sometimes they make
their own way.
Did you hear about the gov. of Fl. dying at his exercise bike.[1]
What a shock. Also, I can't believe the progress with the Clinton
thing. I refused to NOT have time to listen to the developments
Friday night, on the Lehr news hour. What a trip this has all been
for him, and it keeps changing week by week. Elizabeth
[1] On December 12, 1998, just three weeks before his long-awaited retirement was to begin, Lawton Chiles suffered from an abnormal heart rhythm while exercising on a cycling machine in the Governor's Mansion gymnasium. He died suddenly shortly afterwards, at the age of 68.
